We have borrowed Ukrainian costumes from the Society for International Folk Dancing (SIFD) which
were worn by the adults.
Ukrainian women's costumes comprise a cotton shift, decorated with embroidery, usually red.
A woollen overskirt made up of three pieces attached to the waistband is worn over the shift, and a sleeveless woollen
or velvet jacket over that. The apron is often white cotton with red cross-stitch. The headdress has long
multi-coloured ribbons and flowers
The men's costume consists of a fur hat, a white shirt with embroidery, baggy trousers, a scarf wrapped around the waist,
and, of course, boots.
